Woodland Residential Services offers six Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled-Nursing (ICF/DD-N) and one Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled-Habilitative (ICF/DD-H). Harmony Day program was designed with our clients’ needs in mind. At the time we opened Harmony Day program we were the first such program to provide continual, on-site nursing.
active treatment
We provide Active Treatment for our clients. Active Treatment is defined at 42 CFR 483.440(a) and refers to aggressive, consistent implementation of a program of training, treatment and health services. For WRS this means that the clients participate, to the extent they are able, in every aspect of their lives. They help cook their own food, wash their own dishes, fold their own clothes and make their own bed. They brush their own hair and teeth and feed themselves.
It is not enough that our clients are well clothed, well-nourished and comfortable. Each client has an Individual Program Plan designed especially for them by our team of experts. This Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) may be composed of our Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), Social Worker, Dietitian, Recreation Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapist, Audiologist or other specialist as the individual may need. And of course the team also includes a member of the direct care staff who is most familiar with the day to day activities of the client.
